For many years, Adam worked long hours in a corporate environment. He was forced to work twelve hour days when he could do the work in four hours. He wanted more flexibility, more time with his family and more meaningful work.
Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Adam wanted to work the hours he needed to work and find a meaningful career. He liked the idea of real estate because it is a low-risk way to start your own business, but he was nervous about it being a hard and competitive industry.
In his own words, “I couldn’t have been more wrong.” When he started at Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors, he was shocked to discover the exact opposite of what he expected. Instead of a competitive culture, he found a culture of support. He was quickly surrounded by a team of mentors, staff, managers – all there to help him.
At the beginning, he had a huge learning curve. There were tests to pass, paperwork and regulations to understand. Everyone around him worked hard to make him successful, and he quickly understood that Ruhl&Ruhl agents where always there to help him whether it was to talk or for guidance in a hard deal. He describes the culture as agents “understanding that by lifting each other up, everyone benefits.”
Now, he doesn’t do busy work anymore. He determines his own hours, and every hour he puts in is meaningful because he is helping people and impacting their lives.
He also has more time for himself and his family. He makes it a point to golf at least two times a week when the weather is warm, and he and his family now take two vacations a year.
